NIELIT introduced a Short Term Computer Course for SC/ST students in Silapathar Science College free of cost under an agreement entered by both the parties. NIELIT is an autonomous organization under the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Govt. of India, engaged in HRD activities in the area of Information, Electronics & Communication technology (IECT). Their mandate is Human Resource Development in the non-formal sector in the field of Information, Electronics & Communication technology (IECT) areas.

A Memorandum of Understanding between Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, Guwahati and Silapathar Science College, Silapathar made on 5th June, 2017. The main objective is to organize programme on Entrepreneurship and Skill Development and the outcome is expected to encourage educated youth to find new avenues for self-employment.
