World environment day is celebrated on June 5 every year. This day has been celebrated since 1974 to create awareness on environment and its protection. The theme for this year being 'Biodiversity' the focus is on the need to save resources and reconnect with nature. Due to the ongoing pandemic, over 100 countries virtually commemorate this day. Unique efforts have been taken to conserve wildlife during the lockdown in India. We, in Silapathar Science College, under the leadership of our Principal, Dr. Ranjit Saikia also tried our best to mark the occasion with a programe of plantation maintaining #socialdistancing, practicing #frequenthandwash and adopting proper #Sanitization
